Snoozebox provide pitch-side accommodation to Swansea Football Club

Snoozebox has recently supplied 30 inflatable Snoozy pods to Swansea FC in a bid to encourage players to rest during their pre-season training programme.

The Welsh side are preparing for their premier league campaign with grueling double training sessions every morning and afternoon. Rather than battling lunch-time traffic to drive home for a nap between training sessions players can check-in to their Snoozy pitch-side rooms.

“Pre-season is where the volume of work is at its highest,’’ explained Jonny Northeast, Swansea City’s Head of Sports Science and Fitness. “So it’s important we try and provide the players with as many recovery strategies as we can in order to get the best out of them on the pitch.

“One way is to aid their sleep. By having the Snoozeboxes at the training ground it means the players don’t have to travel in between sessions. By having something available on site it is better for everyone. The boys find it beneficial and have taken to them really well.”

The sports science team at Swansea FC are not the only club taking steps to encourage sleep for their squad. Superclubs Real Madrid and Manchester United have addressed player fatigue by building hotels on-site for use throughout the season.

“I think it’s a great idea,’’ says Swans midfielder Leon Britton “We don’t get a lot of time between sessions, so it just makes things a lot easier to stay at the training ground. It gives us a chance to rest and recover. ”

Snoozy is the latest addition to Snoozebox range of hotel rooms. Each Snoozy comes as either a double or twin room, offering a comfortable full height sleeping room, with all bedding, linens and towels provided.

Snoozy rooms can be deployed easily and in as little as 8 minutes!
